Yes, I know, I'm a lame ass. I haven't blogged in, oh, 2 weeks? I have a good reason, really I do! (insert whine here) Between Connor Cameron Brian Cooking Cleaning Sewing Shopping Diapers Poop Pee Sweeping Mopping Haircutting and Coloring Laundry, Bottles, InstantMessaging SideCracking Crock-potting(?)Plumbers Contractors Doctors Teachers...I'm pooped!

I made a purse last week...

Just a simple one, out of some old jeans that don't fit anymore(thanks boys). The lining is a skirt that again, I can no longer wear thanks to my 2 little rugrats...I've made quite a few of these, and sold them to friends, etc...but I'm thinking I wanna do more. I like making the bags, but I like making funky aprons, embellishing jeans...I will post pics as I make them, and you can tell me what you think.

Vintage Homemaking

I found a great blog today. One of the things I love to find is old housekeeping books from the 50's and earlier. Even the very early ones form the 30's and 40's. Also old etiquette books, cookbooks, and home ec textbooks. It's almost like finding little timecapsules. A different era, one certainly more innocent than ours. I get a kick out of reading how "to please your husband" by cooking wholesome meals, keeping your children clean, your house presentable...and do it all in a lovely dress, immaculate dress & heels! Ha! I'd get shagged 7 ways to sunday if i wore something like that when my Dh came home. Come to think of it...

Mind Fart...

You know, I have TONS of BRILLIANT ideas for this blog when I'm away from the computer. But it seems the second I sit down, total brain freeze. I'm an avid note-taker. I always keep a notebook(composition book-ha!) with me, and I write down ideas I have for bags, to do/buy lists, etc, but I think I'm gonna have to put my blog thoughts in there too. We'll see how it works. I know that I want to devote one post a week to links. I have a huge links file, and I thought it might be fun to share. Blog links, recipes, fun things, things I'm making or want to make, etc... I'll start off with my favorite crafty girl site.

NOUN...finding something unexpected and useful while searching for something else entirely; the delightful discovery of something not sought; what I hope this little blog will be if I do it right...

Dear Diary...

Don't you hate starting a new journal? All that clean white paper, just begging you to fill it with witty thoughts, profound insight...
Ha!

The idea that other people might read what I write is at best, curious. I mean, I think I'm clever sometimes, and my husband pretends he finds me funny, if for no other reason than to charm me into something or other. My kids are too young to find Mommy funny, except when I'm trying to get them to do something other than what they're doing.

What I want to do here is share some of my useless knowledge, maybe a recipe or two, some of the gajillions of links I have stored in my favorites folders, show off what I'm making, and make some new friends. So ask me some questions, send me some links, tell all your friends...
